Getting Your Workspace
Your workspace is created for you, and you receive an email invitation. This page covers that first sign-in and what to do immediately after.
The invitation
Your workspace is set up with one administrator — usually whoever requested it. That person gets an email containing a link to sign in and a temporary password.
If it hasn't arrived, check spam before anything else — invitation emails are a common casualty of aggressive filters. If it's genuinely missing, whoever arranged your workspace can re-send it.
First sign-in
- Open the link in the invitation.
- Enter your email address and the temporary password from the email.
- You'll be prompted to set a new password before you can continue. This isn't optional — the temporary password is single-use by design.
- Choose a strong password and confirm it.
You'll land on the dashboard. That's your workspace.
Your LockMCP administrator account is separate from any account in your own application, even when the email address is the same. Signing in here doesn't sign you in there, and changing your password here doesn't affect the other.
What you have now
An empty workspace with:
- You, as administrator, with full access
- No connections yet — you'll create the first one shortly
- No tools, since those come from connections
- No other members, until you invite them
Your first three steps
1 — Look around. The dashboard has more sections than you need on day one. Workspace Tour explains what each is for, so you know where things live.
2 — Create a connection. This is the real work: choosing an identity model, verifying your domain, and going live. Start with Prerequisites to check you have everything, then follow Create a Connection.
3 — Invite your team. Once a connection is Active, add the people who'll use it under Inviting Members. Don't rush this — until a connection is live there's nothing for them to connect to.
Common questions
Can there be more than one administrator? Yes. Invite someone under Members & Access and give them the admin role. Worth doing early so you're not the only person who can administer the workspace.
I never got the email. Check spam. If it's not there, ask whoever arranged your workspace to re-send the invitation — the sign-in link is tied to your account and can be reissued.
I've lost my password. Use the password reset option on the sign-in page.
Can I change the workspace name? Yes, under Workspace Settings.
